Order of Worship
10:15 (Espoo)
Song 1 – Behold (Then Sings My Soul)
Hear God call you to worship through his Word:
John 1:1-4 ESV
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men.”
Let us worship the Lord!
Song 2 – O Praise the Name
Song 3 – Revelation Song
Song 4 – Love Still Bids You Welcome Here
The proof of God’s amazing love is this:
While we were sinners, Christ died for us.
Trusting in God’s faithfulness and compassion,
let us confess our sin before God and one another.
—based on Romans 5:8; Hebrews 4:16, NRSV
Confession of Sin
God of everlasting love,
we confess that we have been unfaithful
to our covenant with you
and with one another.
We have worshipped other gods:
money, power, greed, and convenience.
We have served our own self-interest
instead of serving only you
and your people.
We have not loved our neighbour
as you have commanded,
nor have we rightly loved ourselves.
Forgive us, gracious God,
and by your Holy Spirit
bring us back into the fullness
of our covenant with you
and one another.
Through Christ, our Lord.
Amen.
Assurance of Forgiveness
God so loved the world that he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him may not perish
but may have eternal life. Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
—John 3:16-17
In light of this good news, let’s pray.

Hear the Word of the Lord:
” 7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.“
This is the Word of God.
Why We Love One Another
– 1 John 4:7-11
1. We love one another because God is love and love is from God (vv 7-8)
2. We love one another because he has loves us (vv 9-11)
3. We love one another as a demonstration of God being perfected in us (v 12)
Song 6 — Here is Love
Song 7 — Even So, Come
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name;
your kingdom come;
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who have sinned against us.
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.
Amen.
24 The Lord bless you and keep you;
25 the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
26 the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
–Numbers 6:24–26 (ESV)
