Growing in Christian Maturity

UCC is committed to the growth and maturity of its attenders and members.

We offer various opportunities and teaching environments for learning and growth, such as for example a Newcomers Meeting (designed to give you an overview of what our church believes) opportunities to study a church-level Diploma in Christian Studies (with which you can apply for a Master’s Degree in Theological Studies at our affiliate school Agricola Theological Seminary), as well as focussed topical life group studies and summer book studies.

To learn more, please contact us!

We regularly offer the following meetings/classes as need arises:
  • a Baptism Class
  • a Membership Class
  • a Basics of Christianity Class

Classes are generally taught by pastor Shaun or by an Elder of the church, and are usually held at the church offices in Matinkylä or in UCC Helsinki after the evening worship service.

See our calendar or speak to Shaun for more details!

Newcomers Meeting

You are very warmly welcome to finding out more about UCC – who we are, what we believe, and why we do things the way we do! Typically we organise this meeting as the need arises. We’ll let you know here, in our announcements and on our calendar about our next newcomers meeting as soon as we have plans for one.

In the meantime, we’d love to hear from you if you any questions! Come and chat with us anytime before or after our worship services, or fill out our digital visitors card and we’ll be in touch.

Membership Classes

Are you ready to explore membership at United Community Church?

Here’s what to expect as you explore membership at UCC:

We teach a membership class in two sessions. The class is usually taught by pastor Shaun or an Elder of the church. The class will give you all the details on what membership looks like at UCC, and why we believe it’s important to commit in membership to a local church. We provide physical and electronic notes for the classes, and are happy to answer any questions you may have along the way.

After taking the second of the two sessions, we invite you to prayerfully consider whether you want to become a member of UCC. Within a few weeks, please fill out and submit this membership covenant form to tell us either yes, you want to become a member or no, you do not want to become a member. An Elder will be in touch with you shortly afterwards.

The next possible steps are to sign the membership covenant, have an interview with an Elder, and if membership proceeds, to be officially blessed into our church during a Sunday worship service.

If you’d like to be notified when the next membership class is available, please speak to a pastor or fill out this form and we will be in touch.
