Hear God call you to worship through his Word:
Psalm 84:1–2 (ESV)

— Psalm 84:1–2 ESV
Let us worship the Lord!

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow
Praise Him, all creatures here below
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
Amen
Let us come before the Lord together as his precious beloved children, in full confidence of his love for us, and together with one voice confess our sin before him and each other.
Confession of Sin
O Almighty and merciful Father,
you pour your benefits upon us—
forgive the unthankfulness with which
we have requited your goodness.
We have remained before you
with dead and senseless hearts,
unkindled with love of your gentle
and enduring goodness.
Turn us, O merciful Father,
and so shall we be turned.
Make us with our whole heart
to hunger and thirst after you,
and with all our longing to desire you.
Amen.
(—Anselm)
Assurance of Forgiveness
Our holy God tells us that he himself will cleanse us of our sin – hear and received this promise of forgiveness from Ezekiel 36:25–27.
“I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.”
— Ezekiel 36:25-27 ESV
Let’s pray.

Before we send our children to Sunday school, we are delighted to present Anselm Rapin to the congregation and bless him together.
Song 4 – Speak, O Lord
We sing this next song a heartfelt prayer, and invite you to use the lyrics of this song in your own private prayer-life too.
- Speak, O Lord, as we come to You
To receive the food of Your Holy Word
Take Your truth, plant it deep in us
Shape and fashion us in Your likeness
That the light of Christ might be seen today
In our acts of love and our deeds of faith
Speak, O Lord, and fulfill in us
All Your purposes for Your glory
2. Teach us Lord, full obedience
Holy reverence, true humility
Test our thoughts and our attitudes
In the radiance of Your purity
Cause our faith to rise, cause our eyes to see
Your majestic love and authority
Words of pow’r that can never fail
Let their truth prevail over unbelief
3. Speak, O Lord, and renew our minds
Help us grasp the heights of Your plans for us
Truths unchanged from the dawn of time
That will echo down through eternity
And by grace we’ll stand on Your promises
And by faith we’ll walk as You walk with us
Speak, O Lord, till Your church is built
And the earth is filled with Your glory
Hear the Word of the Lord:
“3 And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, 5 but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: 6 whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.”
–1 John 2:3–6 (ESV)
This is the Word of God.
The Joy of Assurance That We Know God
– 1 John 2:3–6
- God wants us to know him and to be assured that we know him.
- Obedience to God, a test of assurance.
Song 5 — Knowing You, Jesus
Song 6 — My Worth is Not in What I Own
Knowing You
Verse 1. All I once held dear built my life upon
All this world reveres and wars to own
All I once thought gain I have counted loss
Spent and worthless now compared to this
Chorus
Knowing You Jesus knowing You
There is no greater thing
You’re my all You’re the best
You’re my joy my righteousness
And I love You Lord love You Lord
Verse 2. Now my heart’s desire is to know You more
To be found in You and known as Yours
To possess by faith what I could not earn
All surpassing gift of righteousness
Verse 3. Oh to know the pow’r of Your risen life
And to know You in Your sufferings
To become like You in Your death my Lord
So with You to live and never die
My Worth Is Not In What I Own (At The Cross)
Verse 1. My worth is not in what I own
Not in the strength of flesh and bone
But in the costly wounds of love at the cross
Verse 2. My worth is not in skill or name
In win or lose in pride or shame
But in the blood of Christ that flowed at the cross
Chorus
I rejoice in my Redeemer
Greatest treasure Wellspring of my soul
I will trust in Him no other
My soul is satisfied in Him alone
Verse 3. As summer flowers we fade and die
Fame youth and beauty hurry by
But life eternal calls to us at the cross
Verse 4. I will not boast in wealth or might
Or human wisdom’s fleeting light
But I will boast in knowing Christ at the cross
Verse 5. Two wonders here that I confess
My worth and my unworthiness
My value fixed my ransom paid at the cross
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name;
your kingdom come;
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who have sinned against us.
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.
Amen.
24 The Lord bless you and keep you;
25 the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
26 the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
