Order of Worship
10:15 (Espoo)
Song 1 – I Believe (The Creed)
Hear God call you to worship through his Word:
Isaiah 46:8–10 (ESV)
“8 Remember this and stand firm,
recall it to mind, you transgressors,
9 remember the former things of old;
for I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is none like me,
10 declaring the end from the beginning
and from ancient times things not yet done,
saying, ‘My counsel shall stand,
and I will accomplish all my purpose, ”
Let us worship the Lord!
Song 2 – God the Uncreated One (King Forever)
Song 3 – Holy, Holy, Holy
Song 4 – How Great Thou Art
Thank you that we can come with confidence, trusting in your goodness, and surrendering to your mercy. Holy and eternal God, we confess our sins in the gracious and glorious light of your presence.
Confession of Sin
O Lord,
you have mercy upon all—
take away from me my sins,
and mercifully kindle in me
the fire of your Holy Spirit.
Take away from me the heart of stone,
and give me a heart of flesh,
a heart to love and adore you,
a heart to delight in you,
to follow and to enjoy you,
for Christ’s sake.
Amen.
(—Ambrose)
Assurance of Forgiveness
As far back as the days of Ezekiel, you, O Lord, promised that you would do the work of renewing our hearts and spirits by your Holy Spirit. We praise you for the gift of your life in us, for forgiveness, for sanctification, and for eternal hope.
Let’s pray.

Hear the Word of the Lord:
“1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already. 4 Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 5 They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them. 6 We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error.”
This is the Word of God.
Testing What is True
– 1 John 4:1–6
- The command to test our faith
- The need to test our faith
- The way to test our faith
Song 6 — Come Thou Fount
Song 7 — Great is Thy Faithfulness
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name;
your kingdom come;
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who have sinned against us.
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.
Amen.
24 The Lord bless you and keep you;
25 the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
26 the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
–Numbers 6:24–26 (ESV)
