Christmas Service: December 15th at 10:30

Order of Worship

23rd of June | 10:30 (Espoo)

Song 1 – Hope of the Nations

Hear God call you to worship:

Psalm 63:1–4

“O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory. Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands.”

Let us worship the Lord!

Song 2 – Christ Be Magnified

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow
Praise Him, all creatures here below
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

Amen

Confession of Sin
Most gracious and most merciful God,
we confess to you and to one another that time after time
we have entered your presence with countless prayers
but with hearts that have been closed to your grace.

We have lifted our hands to you in praise,
but our feet have still walked in the ways of evil.
We have rehearsed your commandments
but have refused to see your face in the needs of our neighbour.

We pray, Lord, that you forgive our lack of faith
and pardon our acts of injustice.
Grant us the healing that comes from your presence
and the cleansing of your all-powerful Word,
through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen.

Assurance of Forgiveness

Brothers and sisters, hear and receive the assurance of forgiveness from God’s Word:

“The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities.

For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far he removes our transgressions from us.”

— Psalm 103:8, 10-12

Our Scripture reading today is Colossians 1:24-29 (ESV). Hear the Word of God:

24 Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church, 25 of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God that was given to me for you, to make the word of God fully known, 26 the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints. 27 To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. 28 Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. 29 For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.

This is the Word of the Lord.

Song 5 – What A Beautiful Name

Song 6 – Living Hope

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name;
your kingdom come;
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who have sinned against us.
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.
Amen.

“‘The Lord bless you
    and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
    and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
    and give you peace.”’

– Numbers 6:24-26
