Hear God call you to worship through his Word:

“After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

– Revelation 7:9-10

‭‭Let us worship the Lord!

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow
Praise Him, all creatures here below
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

Amen

As we come together in this service of worship, one of the ways we very practically worship our gracious and merciful God is to confess our sins to him knowing that Christ has paid the wages of sin, once and for all. We confess not only before God but also before one another, knowing that this is an act of humble and necessary worship to our Lord and Saviour.

Confession of Sin
Most gracious and most merciful God,
we confess to you
and to one another
that time after time
we have entered your presence
with countless prayers
but with hearts that have been
closed to your grace.

We have lifted our hands to you in praise,
but our feet have still walked
in the ways of evil.
We have rehearsed your commandments
but have refused to see your face
in the needs of our neighbour.

We pray, Lord, that you
forgive our lack of faith
and pardon our acts of injustice.
Grant us the healing that comes
from your presence and the
cleansing of your all-powerful Word,
through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen.

Assurance of Forgiveness
Romans 8:1 tells us that “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” For all those who believe in Christ Jesus as Lord and Saviour, know and rejoice that your sins are forgiven.

In light of this remarkable gospel, let us pray.

A special welcome to any visitors joining us today – if you’d like to get connected or find out more about UCC, please see our digital visitors card or speak to us after the service!

Hear the Word of the Lord:

“Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?”

‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:1-5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

This is the Word of God.

Joy and Overcoming the World
– 1 John 5:1-5

1. Everyone who has faith in Jesus the Christ overcomes the world.2. Overcoming the world is the normal Christian life and it is a matter of joy.

All who confess Christ as Lord and Saviour are welcome to the Table.

Please hold the elements until all have received; we will partake together as one body.

Song 5 — Behold the Lamb

Song 6 — By Faith

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name;
your kingdom come;
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who have sinned against us.
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.
Amen.
