What to Expect From our Sunday Worship Services
We’re so glad you’re here and we look forward to getting to know you! Here’s what you can expect from worshipping with us on any given Sunday.
UCC is a warmly welcoming church family. We follow annual rhythms based on historical church traditions, which we’ve incorporated into our church life today. Read more about our rhythms of life here.
We begin our Sunday services with a Call to Worship, a scripture passage to turn our minds to the God we serve, after which we sing together in praise and thanksgiving. Read more about singing in church here.
We love hearing from our brothers and sisters – we often have a short interview or testimony in our services, and we encourage sharing of prayer requests or praise reports as well. You can also send us your prayer requests digitally.
We pray or read a confession corporately, after which we bless all the children in the service and invite them to their age-respective Sunday school groups. Read more about what we offer children on Sundays here.
We are currently in a sermon series on the letters to the Thessalonians. After a reading of the sermon text, we enjoy expository preaching from our pastors, or sometimes an elder or a visiting speaker. Read our Sermon Series Background here.
We respond to the teaching of God’s Word in song, followed by a benediction from our pastor. We usually have a few announcements at the end of the service, and these are also available on the digital bulletin.
We encourage fellowship after the service, and of course seek to do this in accordance with governmental health recommendations. You can stay up to date with our latest Covid-19 response plan here. In normal times, both services offer an extended time of fellowship with snacks or a meal. We love getting the chance to have face to face fellowship with each other, a gift which has only grown dearer in these times of limited social contact.
Come, worship with us this Sunday; taste and see that the Lord is good.
