Life Groups

What is a life group?

A life group (sometimes called home group or community group) is a group of people from UCC who gather together typically at someone’s home to discuss, pray, eat and study the Bible together (usually using materials for the sermon from every previous Sunday). Participating in a life group helps you to build relationships with others while growing as a Christian. Groups typically meet a few times a month.

We are excited to be launching a new format of life group. The aim of this is to better serve those who might be getting into a life group for the first time or whose schedules don’t currently permit long term commitment to a group.  We are planning on two groups during the spring semester (one before and one after Easter) and one group during the autumn semester.

During the summer season, we warmly encourage you to join the book study for robust discussion and warm fellowship. The book & the schedule for summer 2023 will be announced later – stay tuned!

What kinds of groups does UCC have?

In the Spring of 2023, UCC life groups will be continuing to follow our latest sermon series. Each week questions for group study/personal reflection will be available on our digital bulletin.

We’re praying to see at least 80% of all of our regular attenders in a life group. If you’re already in a life group, great! We invite you to incorporate these materials.

If you’re not already in a life group, we’re asking if you might be willing to host a new group during this Spring for four gatherings, to study through this material together. Let us know if you could host a group!

In addition to house groups, we will offer new life groups led by staff members on Sundays, either morning, midday or evening. These groups will meet 4 times during the Spring on February 12th & 26th and March 12th & 26th.
