Missions updates!

The Rogers bring exciting news from Thailand

Paul and Anniina Rogers are back to Finland. The first season (9 months) in Thailand is now over. During June and July they will be visiting different churches & small groups in Finland sharing about the ministry in Thailand. They are very excited and amazed what GOD is doing on the island of Koh Phangan, where they have really enjoyed meeting travelers, back packers and yogis, and will continue to build relationships with them as they return to Thailand for the second season in August.

The Badgers roll well with Australia

Glenn and Riia Badger with their boys Ezra and Miska are doing great in Australia. Here’s a pick from their newsletter:

“It seems we are destined to be in churches with the words ‘community’ and ‘church’ in their names. Our home (sending) church in Helsinki is called United Community Church (miss you guys!!) and this Sunday we will be welcomed as members to Community Church Hornsby. So this is the church where Riia’s been teaching English and where the mosaic services happen, so where we have been building relationships. It’s walking distance for us, and we love the vision of the church to reach communities here and all over the world. We met with the senior pastor and he says they need help in bringing all the different cultures together, as our area has many new immigrants and the church is originally very anglo-saxon.”

New missionaries from UCC

A couple of new missionaries are being sent off this summer. Merituuli Tynnilä is a 23-year-old artist heading for short-time missions trip to Rome, to Transform 2010 conference organized by Operation Mobilization. After the conference Merituuli will participate in an Arts and Media outreach, where the team will be sharaing the gospel through arts.

After summer Sinnamari Iso-Rautio will be going to Valencia, Spain, to work with a local team dedicated to church planting and empowering village communities to plant new churches.
